The beach of solitude

The waves softly hit the hull as the sun rest glistening off the mast
A quiet exist here
It’s measured as if intent to allow your focus to drift
Taking in the freshness of the air
The white sand facing the water that calmly laps at the beach as if daring to come forth with the tide

I too own this quiet within my soul and only those who have been shipwrecked can hear it
Allowing the things many don’t appreciate that surround us and are always around us to be seen
It’s more of an essence within a spirit
A hidden gem trapped in coal
A frozen heart
Waiting on ice to melt

So I continue to listen intently
Eyes hidden behind shades so you can’t see the windows to an abyss wrapped in experience
Trapped in experience
Reacting off of experience

The waves continue to lap and I exhale
